Don’t fall in love with hope - it can be insatiable.

People who stay in small towns typically fail financially →

This I cannot disagree with one bit. Unless you’re one of those who are all up and up and good in with everyone, you’re not likely to succeed.

Typically those people have pre-existing connections due to family.

Oh yes, for sure. I live in a small…

I live in a city surrounded by miles upon miles of small towns. Though connections and relatives play a role in success here it in no way compares to surrounding areas.
It seems that the only young people who remain in small towns are either teen parents or the incredibly unambitious. (Not directed at you by the way)

Oh don’t worry about offending me. I hate it here. I worked the same job for almost six years while I worked via Internet for my education. I have no intention of staying here.

Most people I went to school with have either left, or settled down. You’re absolutely right, you either have kids and settle down, or have no ambition.

The job I worked at had absolutely no potential for advancement. All I really got from it was money, and years of experience working in retail.

What I’ve really noticed here is that unless you have your own business, the majority of people employed in local businesses are women. The majority of men are either farmers, or work off in Ontario, Alberta, or Northern Canada.

Ah yes the A-typical country male..
farmers, truckers, and those who drive an hour to work.
I could not do it.
As for retail: I’ve never worked it but it sounds like utter hell.

I’m confused. I thought ‘Democrat’ was related to democracy.
